ART STUDIO Spotify Playlist [October 2022]

Put these smooth, funky, dance-y, chill tracks on to do the creative stuff that YOU love to do. This month I’ve got an eclectic mix of 10 songs, from Justin Bieber’s ‘Peachy’ to Aitana’s ‘Formentera’ on repeat in the studio.

Sarah Daly, Sally Walvin and Sharon McTavish at the Sarah Daly Art x Satara Living Collaboration

Here’s the list:

  1. Peaches, Justin Bieber and Daniel Caesar This track inspired the Peachy Series I recently created for Satara Living. Who knew Bieber would be an inspiration? Here are the lyrics to the first verse:

I got my peaches out in Georgia

I get my weed from California

I took my chick up to the North, yeah

I get my light right from the source, yeah

"I get my light right from the source"? - I love this. Light is pretty important for all of us - the source of happiness, wellbeing, general feel good beautiful amazingness. May we all get our light right from the source.

  2. Therefore I Am, Billie Eilish Billie has boundaries, and this one is all about saying ‘no’ to hearing the nonsense of naysayers. It’s also a solid ode back to those university philosophy classes when Descartes made my mind feel fuzzy. It was the philosophy class. Really.

  3. L’hymne de nos campagnes 2019, Tryo A smooth track as only the French can do about getting out of the day to day and into the mountains, the country, the open air. Why not indeed? That’s what inspires lots of my art… and can inspire your creativity too!

  4. Lovely Day/ Good as Hell Mash Up, Pomplamoose How good is this mashup? If you haven’t discovered Pomplamoose yet, you’re in for a treat!

  5. Brazilian Soul, The Knocks feat. Sofi Tukker I heart Sofi Tukker, and this track is getting me in the mood for Summer at the beach.

  6. Feel It Still, Portugal, The Man Turns out I’ve been feeling it since 1976, but the sentiment is the same. I feel it still. And isn’t it great?

  7. Connected, Stereo MCs It’s what we all need - to feel connected. It’s the foundation of what my art is about. Every time I hear this song, on those days when I wonder ‘what on earth am I doing?’, this reminds me to get up and keep going. I think it might be on my forever playlist. Do you have a forever playlist, with all of the songs that really mean something to you?

  8. Belly Dancer, Imanbek, BYOR Easy track to get your mood up. Pretty sure you’ll be shaking all the good bits!

  9. Where Are You Now, Lost Frequencies, Calum Scott This track reminds me of the 2000s, but a ‘now’ version of that sound. You know that person you can’t stop thinking about, maybe give them a call?

  10. Formentera, Aitana, Nicki Nicole Smooth, gorgeous track in Spanish language that makes me want to be on that island off the coast of Spain. Summer chill at it’s finest, with a dash of dance-y.

I love music recommendations. Make sure you email me with tracks you think I’ll love too. And tell me if these got you moving, even if just a shoulder shimmy at the office! You know you want to ;)
