Inspired by the vastness of the waters surrounding Stradbroke Island/ Minjerribah, including the tea-tree lakes on the interior of the island. It is a place where time seems to stop. The nets are a reference to our connectedness - hailing from the bilum weaving technique I grew up with in Papua New Guinea. Filled with textural detail and layers of colour, this piece that brings the light of our wide open country into your interior environment. Part of a series of aerial landscapes.
